To put rear discs on a drum you need a diwsc rear axle.

TC Brembos will bolt onto ANY Cobalt knuckle. You need to use the TC rotors.

diwsc? What's that? I was pondering about doing this.

So you're saying that I could do a drum to (cobalt) brembo conversion easier then a GM drum to disc conversion?

No. If youre talking about fronts, no matter what you do, you need calipers, brackets if not using Brembos, rotors, and either 5 lug hubs or drill out the rotors to the 4 lug pattern.

If youre talking rears, you need all the brake parts for the system you want AND you need a factory 4whl disc rear axle in order to install factory rear discs. The axles are different, the disc axles have the mounting brackets built into the axle, drum cars dont have the needed brackets to mount calipers. good news is swapping an axle is pretty easy(8 bolts, 2 brake lines, and park cables) bad news is they arent easy to come by, or they are expensive. (Ive got a complete SS/SC rear axle setup forsale cheap BTW) ) The really good news is that when these rears are out there sale, you should be able to EASILY get one complete for under $600, a rear disc conversion from SSBC cost almost $900

SAWEET! I'd like to do this in the future. Hopefully in a few years they'll be fairly easy to come by, either brembo or GM. I'd love to have brembos though

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't GM start putting the same exhaust manifold on all the models as of 2007? Prior to that I think they were different, but now I believe they all use the LSJ header. If this is the case maybe we should state that on the OP. Anyone know if the DP is the same or not?

Wait a minute..... So if the hubs are interchangable then I could swap mine out and have 5 bolt? and then have the sweet ass SS rims? that would be so great!

Yeah. but you'd have to upgrade the brakes too.

To go 5 lug youll need hubs, drums, rotors, and caliper brackets.
