Removing the rear deck lid (Coupes)

What you'll need:
-Small tip regular/flat blade screwdriver
-13mm socket
-18mm socket
-Ratchet (same size as sockets)
-Breaker bar (optional but definitly nice)
-T50 socket
-7mm nutdriver
-Needlenose pliers

1. Remove bottom of rear seats. Push towards rear of the car and slightly lift up at the same time. Theres two under there (one directly behind each seat.

here is where they latch on the seats

Here is where they latch on the car

2. Unbolt the three seat belts that go through the rear deck cover using the 18mm. This is where It's easier to use the breaker bar. Just break them loose with it and then use the ratchet to loosen them up the rest of the way.

3. Remove cover under the headrest. Then remove the bolts holding the headrest on using the 13mm. repeat to other side.

you can use the screwdriver if needed but I just used my figers

It'll come off fairly easy. It's just two clips mounted to the back of the cover

4. Drop the backs of the seats down by pulling levers in the trunk(careful not poke holes in them seeing as the bottom of the seat is already removed.). Remove plastic rivets that's behind the seats.

Levers

5. Remove the plastic piller covers. Just get your hand behind there and give a gentle but firm tug on the top and bottom. Careful when doing this because they're connected to the plastic window surround. Notice mine are broke. not a big deal but nice to have. Repeat to other side.

This is where mine are broke.

6. Using your screwdriver pop out the tab above the seat belt on the plastic window surround. Using the 7mm nutdriver remove screw inside the tab. Then remove cover on seat belt by lifting from the bottom with the flatblade screwdriver (It will flip up). Remove bolt using T50 socket. this may require the breaker bar to break it loose.

7. Remove plastic window surround. pull three tabs connected at the top of the plastic out then pull firmly but gently on bottom portion. Again it is connected to the piece below so be carefull not to just rip it out. You may wonder why I'm having you take out the window surrounds right?! well if you don't you'll end up bending the rear deck cover and scratching the surrounds.

This is wht happens if you don't remove the window surrounds

8. Lift the rear deck cover up and remove the plastic covers that the seat belts go through. Slide every thing through the holes. After this step all that should be left on the rear deck cover is the child seat hook covers (those don't need to be removed until you reapolster it.)

Pull the front up first

9. Go in to the trunk and using the needlenose pliers pinch the tab and push up. The tabs are located above the rear seat releases (there kind of hidden). there's two of them. They can be tricky to get out of there.

Heres a pic of the tabs

10. pull the whole thing out.
